How to play
Everything needed to begin playing, explained without complicated language.
Get the table ready
- Place the board in the middle.
- Shuffle STONED and BRAIN FOG separately.
- Each player chooses one pawn.
- Put every pawn on LIGHT UP.
- Give each player $100 million.
- Start a 60-minute timer for the 4:20 Pot.
- Place the remaining fake money in the bank.
- Place the Asset cards beside the board and reveal three Empire Ventures.
Do these four things
Then pass the dice to the player on your left. Unless a rule says otherwise, always finish resolving a space before buying or trading.
Build your wealth
- Earn cash from board spaces and successful cards.
- Buy Green Assets when you land on them.
- Buy Empire Ventures from the three face-up cards at EMPIRE MARKET.
- Charge the printed fee when rivals visit your assets.
- Own Farms to collect cash whenever HARVEST is triggered.
- Use BUY WEED, CASH IN YOUR STASH and HIGH STAKES to risk cash for larger returns.
Buying a business
If an asset has no owner, you may pay its printed cost and take its Asset card. Put it face-up beside your player mat.
If you do not buy it, nothing happens. Buy an Upgrade when you revisit its matching business. At setup, reveal three Empire Venture cards; buy one when you land on EMPIRE MARKET, then refill the market. Assets may be sold back to the bank for half their printed value or traded.
Truth or Challenge
- Shuffle all 80 cards into one deck.
- Choose Truth or Challenge before it is read.
- Another player reads only the chosen prompt.
- Complete it: collect $25M.
- Fail or refuse: pay $10M into the 4:20 Pot.
A player may reject any uncomfortable prompt. Draw a replacement; no explanation is required.
No difficulty choice
Shuffle all 70 questions into one deck. Answer the random question within 15 seconds. A wrong-answer payment enters the 4:20 Pot; the next player may steal the question for $10M.
Everything uses fake cash
There are no counters, meters or collectible pieces to track. When a space or card is resolved, simply collect cash, pay cash, move, or miss a turn.
A jackpot after one hour
Fines, failed challenges and wrong answers enter the shared cash pile. After 60 minutes, the first player to land on 4:20 JACKPOT takes everything. If the Pot is empty, they receive nothing. That landing ends the one-hour jackpot; later landings pay $20M from the bank.
Harvest pays immediately
Farms do not produce pieces. Whenever HARVEST appears, each Farm owner collects the cash amount printed directly on their Asset card.
Minor offence or DUI
On your next turn, pay $25M, roll doubles, or answer one random BRAIN FOG question correctly. If unsuccessful, miss that movement phase and leave afterward.
A serious drug offence
Pay $100M, correctly answer one random BRAIN FOG question, or miss two movement phases. Cannabis activity by itself does not send a player to Prison.
Nobody is eliminated
If you cannot pay, sell an asset to the bank for half value. If you have no assets, take a $50M Recovery Loan and repay $75M before claiming victory.
Ending the game
Hit $1 billion.
Win immediately.
At the end of your turn, add your cash and the printed values of your Green Assets. If the total is at least $1 billion and you owe no Recovery Loan, reveal your total and become The High Roller.
